Hard work, commitment, and determination

Dragon boating is a team sport. It takes a steer person, a drummer, and 20 paddlers to make a 500lb dragon boat move smoothly in the water. The technique is easy to learn but hard to perfect. Many of us started with little or no knowledge of the fast growing world of dragon boating. We come from diverse backgrounds, ranging from 18 to 55 years of age. We stay for the love and passion that we have grown for the sport. Most importantly, it is the friendship and support we gained along the way.

2008 Season in Review

2008 has been a very exciting year for us. We participated in 5 regattas around the world. In June, we travelled to Toronto, Canada and raced 7 races in one day. In July, we visited Ithaca and came in 2nd in the Women's Division. The big regatta for the season would be the 6th Club Crew World Championship held in Penang, Malaysia in August. In September, we went to one of our favorite race venue, Hartford, CT. Finally, we ended the water season in Orlando, where for the first time; the race site is in Disney World.

The members make up the team. Our biggest competitor is ourselves. We work hard and dedicate our time to improve our fitness and mental strength. We are here for each other through ups and downs. We train all year round, on land and on water. During the Winter months we build our endurance with running and our strength with weight training. We paddle on the water from April to October. We are each other's trainer and biggest supporter.
